
Project Details
The project is aimed to integrate multiple enterprise facing applications into a single integrated portal. The applications that are integrated are Boomi, Data Power, Secured File Transfer and Site Minder. Each of these applications have significance in their own ways and the users were struggling by juggling between multiple applications to accomplish a single task.
The targeted audience for the portal are 3000+ Florida Blue employees inclusive of developers, admins, executives and ever increasing internal and external vendors.
Boomi application has functionality related to Attach, Detach, Deploy, Execute and Schedule Processes. Once the processes are executed they will be tied back to services in the data power application.
Data power application has functionality related to creation and maintenance of service catalogs for SOAP, REST, SAML/SSO services. In addition to these services Data Power also hold the certificates and their renewal process for the above mentioned services.
Secured File Transfer application is responsible for safe and secured file transfer both internally and also with external vendors. In addition, SFT application also holds the functionality related to creation and maintenance of Governance ID accounts and repositories.
Each application sub categorized into sub categories, namely Actions, Requests and Group Actions. Actions category is for the developers to make use of the available resources in each application, Requests is for the developers and technical personnel to create requests and Group actions category has exclusive access to relative admins to approve, deny or hold the requests.
My Role
Led the project from discovery through delivery working side by side with product managers, business executives and cross functional agile IT Development teams. The majority of the initial work was focussed on understanding existing individual applications, process mapping and deriving the opportunities to optimize and integrate applications. This project was the most challenging project through out my career simply because of high technical nature and scarcely available resources. I worked closely with Admins, Product Managers, Technical Architects and Developers to gather requirements. The repetitive process was to accommodate for surprises on day to day basis and apply critical thinking to come up with innovative solutions.
I have mastered the process mapping exercises for all the applications during my work tenure on this project and evolved as a Subject Matter Expert for the integration platform. By the end of the final phase i ended up designing 200+ UI screens and of course yielded a fruitful result.
